Prime Valuation Certification
A mark we put on our own Prime Certified Opinions of Value, and only when they actually earn it. Here's exactly what that means and what it doesn't.
What it takes to earn the mark
A report carries the Prime Valuation Certification only when it meets all four of these:
- Documented recast methodology. Every add-back and adjustment follows the same consistent process, not ad hoc judgment calls that change report to report.
- Benchmark-based multiple. The valuation multiple is drawn from a fixed set of Main Street SDE-size tiers, calibrated against published transaction data (BizBuySell, IBBA/M&A Source Market Pulse), not an arbitrary number.
- Full deal-reality review. The report runs through an automated sanity-check panel covering earnings trend, risk and upside factors, and SBA financing bankability (DSCR) before it's presented.
- Complete transparency. Every adjustment, add-back, and assumption behind the number is shown in the report itself, nothing is a black box.
What this certification is not
This is PrimeBizValue's own internal standard — it is not issued, reviewed, or endorsed by any accreditation body, government agency, or professional appraisal organization. It is not equivalent to a certified business appraisal performed by a credentialed appraiser (such as an ASA or CVA holder), and it does not carry any legal or regulatory weight on its own. Think of it the way you'd think of a manufacturer's own quality seal, it's a transparent, consistently-applied internal standard, disclosed honestly as exactly that.
Why it matters in a negotiation
A number without a documented process behind it is easy to wave away. A number that came from a consistent, disclosed methodology, benchmarked against real transaction data, and stress-tested against financing reality, is a different conversation. That's the point of this certification: not to claim an authority we don't have, but to make the rigor behind the number impossible to miss.
Only the Prime Certified Opinion of Value carries this certification — the Summary and Custom Reports give you the number and the top-line recast, but not the full sanity-check and financing review this standard requires.
