You're giving PrimeBizValue access to some of the most sensitive information about your company.
We take that seriously.
PrimeBizValue uses your information to provide the valuation service you requested — not to build an advertising profile, sell financial data, or create a side business out of your numbers.
Here's the plain-English version of what happens to your information.
What we don't do
We don't sell your financial information. Not to data brokers. Not to advertisers. Not to lead sellers.
We don't give your financial information to businesses that want to market to you.
We don't use your uploaded financial information for third-party advertising.
We don't ask for information we don't need to value your business.
In particular, PrimeBizValue does not need Social Security numbers, personal bank-account numbers, passwords, full payment-card numbers, medical information, or similar highly sensitive personal information.
If a financial document contains information like that, we recommend redacting it before uploading. If something like that slips through anyway, we treat it the same way we treat everything else sensitive: we don't use it beyond generating your report, and we delete it on the same schedule described below.
What we use your financial information for
We use the financial and business information you provide to perform the work you asked us to do.
That can include:
- reading and organizing submitted financial information;
- identifying and classifying revenue and expenses;
- identifying potential adjustments or add-backs;
- creating a recast of your financial performance;
- estimating SDE, Adjusted EBITDA or similar metrics;
- generating your estimated valuation range;
- delivering your report;
- supporting you if something goes wrong with your report; and
- protecting the Service against fraud, abuse or technical problems.
We may also use aggregated or deidentified information — including across many customers' reports — to understand and improve how PrimeBizValue's methodology and benchmarks perform, provided that information is not reasonably capable of being associated with you or your business as an identifiable customer.
What we retain
Different information serves different purposes, so we don't treat all of it the same way.
Your uploaded financial documents
Original financial documents are among the most sensitive information we handle.
Our goal is to retain them only as long as reasonably necessary to generate your report and address a limited period of technical or customer-support issues.
Original uploaded financial documents are ordinarily deleted from our active systems within 30 days after your report is generated.
We may retain information longer where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud or security issues, comply with law, preserve evidence relating to a dispute, or meet another legitimate legal obligation.
Information generated for your report
We may retain the financial information derived from your submission, your completed report, and related valuation results so that we can provide the Service, respond to support requests, maintain appropriate business records, and resolve disputes.
Contact information
If you provide your name, email address, telephone number, or other contact information, we use it to deliver the Service, communicate with you, and respond when you contact us.
Marketing communications are handled separately. Buying a valuation report does not automatically sign you up for marketing calls, texts, or promotional email.
Purchase records
We maintain records showing information such as what you purchased, when you purchased it, the amount charged, and associated transaction identifiers.
These records may be retained for customer support, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes — generally at least seven years, to satisfy standard tax recordkeeping requirements.
Where your information goes
PrimeBizValue uses a small number of technology providers to make the Service work. That means certain information must be processed by systems outside PrimeBizValue's own application.
Anthropic
We use commercial artificial-intelligence technology from Anthropic, including its Claude API, to assist with tasks such as reading financial documents, extracting line items, organizing financial information, and identifying potential classifications or adjustments used to generate your report.
Information necessary for those functions may be transmitted to Anthropic for processing.
PrimeBizValue does not instruct Anthropic to use your financial information to train general-purpose AI models. Under Anthropic's commercial-service practices in effect as of the date of this page, Anthropic states that commercial/API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the commercial customer affirmatively opts into such use or provides qualifying feedback.
AI systems can make mistakes. Our Terms of Service explain the limitations applicable to AI-assisted analysis and valuation estimates.
Stripe
Payments are processed through Stripe.
PrimeBizValue does not intentionally receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code — Stripe handles payment-card processing through its own systems.
We do receive transaction information necessary to confirm your purchase and maintain appropriate business records.
Email delivery
We use Resend and related communications infrastructure to deliver reports, receipts, and service-related email.
Hosting and infrastructure
Like virtually every online service, PrimeBizValue uses hosting, database, security, and infrastructure providers to operate the website and Service. Those systems may process or store information necessary to provide PrimeBizValue.
We limit disclosure to service providers to what is reasonably necessary for them to perform their function.
Your work in progress
PrimeBizValue may store certain in-progress information locally in your web browser so that you don't lose your work if you move between pages or leave the valuation process before finishing.
Where information is stored only in your browser's local storage, it remains on that device unless you submit it to PrimeBizValue or another feature of the Service transmits it. You can remove locally stored browser information using your browser's storage or site-data controls.
Important: This description applies only to information actually stored locally. Information you submit for report generation is transmitted to PrimeBizValue and the service providers needed to process your report.
Who inside PrimeBizValue can access it
Customer financial information should not be open to everyone simply because they work with PrimeBizValue.
Access to sensitive customer information is intended to be limited to personnel and contractors who have a legitimate business need to access it — for example, to provide customer support, investigate a technical problem, maintain the Service, address fraud or security concerns, or comply with a legal obligation.
What happens if someone legally demands your information
We may disclose information when legally required to do so, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful process.
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, protect the security of the Service, enforce our agreements, or protect PrimeBizValue, our customers, or others.
We do not voluntarily provide customer financial information to unrelated third parties simply because they ask for it.
Can you ask us to delete your information?
Yes.
You may ask us to delete personal information associated with you by emailing hello@primebizvalue.com with the subject line Privacy Request.
There are circumstances where we may need to retain limited information — for example, transaction records required for accounting or taxes, information necessary to prevent fraud, records associated with a dispute, or information we are legally required to maintain.
When an exception applies, our goal is to retain only what is reasonably necessary for that purpose.
A smart step before uploading
Financial statements weren't designed with cloud software in mind.
Before uploading a document, take a quick look for information PrimeBizValue doesn't need.
If possible, redact:
- Social Security numbers;
- personal bank-account or routing numbers;
- full payment-card numbers;
- passwords or authentication credentials;
- unrelated personal information; and
- other highly sensitive information that isn't relevant to valuing the business.
We don't need it, so we'd rather you didn't give it to us.
The short version
Your financial information is here to value your business. That's the job.
We don't sell it.
We don't give it to advertisers.
We don't use it to build third-party marketing profiles.
We use specialized providers when necessary to operate the Service and generate your report.
We try to collect only what the Service needs, limit access to sensitive information, and avoid keeping sensitive source documents longer than necessary.
